Head Chef Paul O Gorman
Born and bred in Dublins fair city, Paul O Gorman had an interest in cooking from an early age. After leaving school, Paul trained as an electrician and worked in a printing company. Thankfully, it wasn’t long until Paul enrolled in a culinary course in Cathal Brugha Street. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Upon completing his course in 1993, Paul was offered one of the coveted placements in the Hotel Europe, just down the road from Killeen House Hotel & Rozzers Restaurant. One fine evening that summer, Paul and his buddys walked past Killeen House on their way up to the viewing point in Aghadoe. The car park was full, the door was open and the lights were on. Turning to his buddys, Paul said, “That looks like a lovely little spot. Wouldn’t mind working there one day…”
Little did he know “one day” would happen 4 years later!
During those 4 years, Paul worked in the Kenmare Park Hotel and also in Michelin Star Café Royal in London. Describing this time of his life Paul says, “I was very fortunate to get the right training, at the right time by the right people.”
In 1997, Michael and Geraldine were looking for a new head chef, and it’s safe to say they got more than they bargained for when Paul O Gorman arrived at Killeen House Hotel & Rozzers! Fast forward to the present day and Paul is part and parcel of the place.
To say that Paul eats, drinks and sleeps food is to understate his passion and commitment. But the secret to Pauls success isn’t just down to his genius and skill... it is also down to the fact that Paul relies on the exceptional ingredients supplied by local suppliers.
Having met a wonderful Kerry woman, Paul settled down to raise his family just 5 minutes up the road from Killeen House Hotel & Rozzers Restaurant. Although his home is very much in Kerry, his heart is still with his beloved Dubs when it comes to Gaelic Football!
