REASON 10 -- ACCESS
Even though we are an Island, off an Island, off the coast of Europe, Ireland is remarkably easy to reach from most places around the World. And airports such as SHANNON, CORK and KERRY are so easy to negotiate, it (almost) makes it a pleasure to fly again.
Once you’ve reached Ireland, there are very few places that have such great variety in such a compact and easy to navigate area, thanks to world class car rental options and a great train network between major points of the country.
REASON 9 -- SAFETY AND SECURITY
Sometimes, its important to state the obvious…… Thankfully, Ireland is as safe and secure a destination as you’ll get anywhere. We have very low crime and vandalism rates. We don’t do snakes or other poisonous creepy crawlie things, or big people-eating animals that look at you and see breakfast….. So overall, provided you display the same level of precaution as any normal person would in their own environment, you can concentrate on nothing more worrying than having a great and memorable time.
REASON 8 -- WE SPEAK YOUR LANGUAGE AND KNOW YOUR NEEDS
Two reasons really – but they go hand in hand! A holiday experience is seriously “de-hassled” and enhanced by the fact that you can communicate easily with anyone in the country you’re visiting, at any time of the day or night and for any reason at all. And its all so much more pleasurable when those people want to do all they can to help you, entertain you, and make sure you have a good impression of their friendliness and their country.
REASON 7 -- WORLD CLASS FACILITIES AND STANDARDS
Ireland is right up there at the top of the pile when it comes to having a physical infrastructure that is especially suited to the discerning Tourist. Our accommodation, food, and transport facilities are the equal to anything you you'll get anywhere. Add to this the range of both natural and man-made attractions Ireland has to offer, and you'll soon discover that Ireland's vacation offering is as good as it gets.
REASON 6 -- ACTIVE OR INACTIVE – THE CHOICE IS YOURS
Ireland is one of those places that allows you to do what you want to do rather than what everyone else wants you to do. You can be as active or as inactive as your mood tells you to be. The country is blessed with some of the finest outdoor activities on the planet – golf, equestrian, hill walking, cycling. etc. etc, etc. But if you want to kick back and relax with a good book, or even a fully loaded iPod, well, nobody’s going to stop you from doing that either!
REASON 5 -- THE REAL IRISH PUB
All around the entire World, about the only area in which retail beverage sales is showing growth is in the niche sector of Irish Pubs. In fact, its well nigh impossible to find any large city anywhere today, that doesn’t have a slew of them. Well, guess what? The only place you’ll find a really proper and genuine Irish Pub is (believe it or not!) in Ireland. An Irish Pub is much more than dark timbers, quaint signage, bricks and mortar. It’s a fun thing, its an attitude thing, and most of all, its a people thing…… And its only available in Ireland!
REASON 4 -- THE CULTURE AND HISTORY
Again, two reasons to visit together, but ones that are completely interwoven. When it comes to history, culture, heritage and tradition, there’s probably no other country in the World as small as Ireland, that has such a deep, profound and proud sense of itself. And the true beauty of it is that its all around you wherever in Ireland you are, and in most cases completely open and accessible, just part of everyday life and living for the locals. From 4000 year old monastic cells in farmer’s fields, to spontaneous music “sessions” in the local Pub, its there and its yours to enjoy, in your own time and at your own pace
REASON 3 -- THE PLACE
The island of Ireland is a small place – around 300 miles north to south at its longest, and maybe 120 miles or so east to west at its widest. But within this small lump of land is some of the most diverse and beautiful scenery on God’s (40 shades of) Green Earth. From the almost unnatural looking Giant’s Causeway up in the North, to the stunning Ring of Kerry and Lakes of Killarney in the South. And from the beautiful Wicklow Mountains in the East, to the magnificent ruggedness of Connemara in the West. This land has something for everyone. Its all there and its waiting for you to come explore it...
REASON 2 -- THE PEOPLE
“The Irish are the race that the God’s made mad, for all of their wars are merry and all of their songs are sad…..” These lines neatly sum up the contradiction that is the Irish psyche. They are surely a race apart, with an attitude and an outlook to life that is unique in every sense. The Irish are among the friendliest, the nicest, the most helpful and the most sincere and genuine people you will ever meet. Come meet them on their own turf and find out for yourself just how it’s the people that make the vacation...
AND THE NUMBER 1 REASON TO VISIT IRELAND IN 2009 IS......
