Who'd ever have thought of it ?

If I had said to someone a month or so ago that Ireland would basically be closed down to all inbound and outbound travellers, because of Icelandic volcano ash in the air, I suspect I would instantly have been surrounded by a posse of burly men in white coats, armed with massive syringes full of horse tranquiliser…….

  
Here in the Killeen House, we received a bucketload of cancellations from overseas Guests as a result of this volcanic ash - business that we could ill afford to lose in these challenging times. I read the other day that the Irish Tourist alone was impacted by over EURO 50 million as a direct result of the whole thing

It just goes to show you, that – despite all our marvellous knowledge and technology – Nature still rules!

It reminds me of the old saying

If you want to give God a laugh – tell Him your plans
